The black and white images are the strongest. I think the texture of the fur was captured really well in this series. I also liked the choice of simple composition.
I love how your photos reflect the things you love. My recommendation would be to play with the presets in lightroom to see how you could really play up and make your images Vibrant. The black and white's would be stronger if more contrast was shown (very washed out)...so play with the brightness/contrast options to see how you can improve these images. Maybe even play with the "fill light" option to see what information that was lost can be found to give you images more dimension. Be creative with the way you take pictures of the cats...half of a face, from the view of the paws, or under the cat...make the viewpoint catch the viewers eye to make it an unusual scene. Talk to me about your photo assignment for making up the field trips you'll be missing because of the meets you are in...

I think the top one is the strongest, because it's the best print. Be careful with exposure on the white! Don't want to blow out all the furrs.
